Saturday 30 November 2019 Christmas Lunch at Winterbourne, Edgbaston

Instead of visiting a pub I discovered that Winterbourne House were doing Christmas party private lunches for groups in the Edwardian (Old) Kitchen which is part of the house.

So, I organised one for the family members for 30 November.

We had a two hour lunch  with free run of the House and Gardens for the day.

Unlike a pub we were individually and well waited upon by the Winterbourne staff team.

In advance we had to choose our main course and desert.. Everyone chose the Christmas Turkey dinner with all the trimmings, which was plentiful and well cooked and served.

For desert, people chose from Christmas Pudding, Trifle Tart and Ice Cream (the latter put on specially by my request for the children).

Finally and  unexpectedly very tasty mince pies were served.

As an added bonus , we were lucky to have clear blue skies to look out on.

Everyone seemed to have a good time which shows that a family get together, though difficult to arrange, is so well worth while!

The cost? £22 for grown ups and half price for children…How could that be bettered?!!

The Photos: Rich, Paula, Karen and I took photos using iPhones and  three were taken with my SLR camera (the group scenes). Everyone put their photos on the Caine & Co WhatsApp account – a super immediate record for everyone.
The compositions  photographed by everyone were great and historically important, so I decided to produce the Gallery below after a little cropping and lighting adjustment with Adobe Lightroom.
